friday night ticks

I don't know which of these ticks me off more:

That I still having six loads of laundry to do, even after just doing six loads of laundry.

or

That I know the storyline of each and every episode of Dora the Distracter in detail. I waste space in the old memory box for these formulaic frolics just in case I need to convince Bumper that I'm watching along with her. Hell hath no fury than a toddler scorned so I must be on the ball and able to discuss plot at the drop of a hat, even if I'm doing house stuff or something on the computer.

Knowing the plots also helps me keep track of time (e.g. Dora just passed the gooey geyser, I have eight more minutes before I must sing the "we did it!" song).

This is the only way I want to find myself
drinking from a Dora cup

Anyone else ticked off out there?

Ugh. Laundry sucks. I'm fairly certain that it has laundry babies...like rabbits, you know.

I'll be ticked with you. I have to have 14 people over for dinner tomorrow night, and it is for the religous holiday that forbids me to do grocery shopping during the day.

...and I have laundry to do!

I tend to be generally disgruntled. Someone or something is always bothering me.
Right now it is my kid who will not go to sleep and my arm hurts from patting her.

Laundry. Ugh. I did two loads today and I have a hundred left for tomorrow. LOL.

I dont mind laundry so much. I love the feeling of emptying the hampers, and having all those clean clothes. I think it also helps that I have a laundry room right next to my kids bedrooms, and a nanny who will (occasionally) help hang and fold.

I'm ticked that my older son refuses to stay in his bed all night. No, that doesn't bother me so much as the fact that, after crawling into my bed, making me face him and occasionally hold his hand, he has the NERVE to get up at 6 am. I'm not sleeping well.

Dora is evil.

Addictive, distractive, the perfect electronic babysitter.

But evil.

We are now in the process of explaining television scheduling to a toddler because she doesn't understand why Dora is only on at specific times. (And she is blissfully unaware of the difference between broadcast and DVDs, and we're keeping it that way, thankyouverymuch.)

Heh... the middle of the verification string spells joule... heh... wait, being one of the few (only) electrical engineers who read this blog means I'm probably the only one who gets that joke.

It can all so monotonous sometimes, can't it. My favourites are the Sundays when McHotty's on shift and there are no programs and bad weather. Makes me want to pour my first gin shortly after breakfast.

Six loads of laundry?! Wow. okay, I have a supercapacity laundry, so maybe my two loads a week plus an extra load every other week or two translates to 3 or 4 loads a week plus the extra one or two, but still. Wow. Of course, if I used hankies, I might get up to six!

Right now, working on Saturday is ticking me off. And it's not even 11 am yet. sigh.

I actually would watch a marathon of Dora if someone would do all my laundry and fold it. I hate folding.

Yo Benny watch out for the Gooey Geyser! Yo Tico I need more Stoli.

Ticked off all morning long while preparing for the guests that I really didn't feel like having over. Ugh!

I'll trade you the laundry for the entertaining!

dora the distracter...hee hee...

ticked at the fact that I get woken up every single night at 3:28 a.m. by my sweet-yet totally frustrating 2 year old.

Dora the Distracter is a perfect way of putting it.

Not ticked here. Actually pretty happy for a change. Of course, I'd be plenty ticked off if I had 6 loads of laundry to do. I don't even think we have enough clothes between the 4 of us to warrant 6 loads.

I dread laundry also. Love the vodka photo :-)

You are too funny. We have many Dora DVD's which I let my daughter watch before bedtime. She ALWAYS watches the same 2 (Fairytale Dora and Dancing Dora) so i know what you mean... thinking (OK, Dora was just turned into a real princess so all she has to do is go kiss sleeping Boots and it's Mommy time!!!)

Been there, done that!

Ticked off? Oh yeah. Let me count the ways.

Funny that you mention Dora. CJ just discovered Dora this weekend and is completely smitten.

You know what ticked me off tonight? The fact that when I was reading Alice a perfectly awful Berenstain Bears book (don't even get me started on why in the hell I was reading it in the first place - I was sure I had got rid of every last fucking santimonious Berenstain Bear diatribe in the house, but that's another story), I actually already "knew" the story line from the even more perfectly awful television series I have been subjected to. Someone must die.

Seeings that I no longer have kids in the house, and don't watch kids shows, I am only 10% sure I know who Dora is. Bring back He-Man and the TMNT!!
