Let Them Eat Rice

About a month ago, I wrote a post about assorted items on my brain tray and one of those juicy grey-matter gems was how I couldn't believe that I hadn't tried Minute Rice until now. I referred to Minute Rice as being easy (in a bow-chicka-bow-bow way) and how I'd make it my booty-call because it's so damn easy. But the kind of booty call that would be wined and dined before establishing regular booty-call status because I'd want to cultivate some respect for the boot-ay before booty-ing.

So a little while after that post, I received an email from Minute Rice saying something like "we are so glad you like Minute Rice, can we send you a thank you gift? No catch, we just want to say thank you and glad you enjoyed the product."

And I'm like "I called your product easy in the loose morals sense of the word."

And they were like "that's okay, we are at peace with the fast-paced lifestyle and questionable morals of our product and want to say thank you - give us your address**"

And I'm like "Wait a sec, is this Minute Rice really a Nigerian princess who needs to move money out of the country and you want me to launder her funds?"

And they were like "ummmmm..."

And I was like "It's okay, I'm kidding - not about your product having questionable morals but the Nigerian princess bit - and I love gifts but only if I can share the booty."

And they said "You are weird and that's okay. We are a bit confused but yes, we will let you spread the Minute Rice joy.**"

So I am going to have a random draw for five readers to get free Minute Rice yo. All you need to do is leave a comment on this post and I'll randomly pick five freakin' winners who will each recieve a coupon for any Minute Rice product (up to 14oz) of their dreams. What are you waiting for - FREE RICE! [contest ends June 9th, winners contacted via email, and must be willing to provide mailing address - also this is open to residents of North America - no free rice for the rest of the world]

** not the real conversation but I was reading between the lines - my side was pretty much accurate and yet, they still sent me stuff.

Nice! I loves me some brown Minute Rice. I cook it up and toss it in the pan with some beans and frozen corn and salsa and it's rad.

Oh, I'm all about whoring with the Minute Rice. I have to ask though, how in the name of Solomon's left toe do you cook brown rice without it being crunchy??

Whoa, there's brown Minute Rice? That's sweet. I am horrible at making regular brown rice -- also the fact that it takes 45m+ to cook means I don't have the patience, but I love the taste.

Anyhow, sign me up, I want a chance to win!

Rice is to a busy mom what fire was to Tom Hanks in Castaway !!!!!

Microwaveble rice is a god send when the ankle biters (literally, at 6:20pm) are screaming at me for dinner to be on the plate in 10 seconds flat.

Hold up!! My brown rice lovah comes in simple, ready to serve bowls?! Oh, now that I know this, what I said before about how once you go brown rice you never go back holds up even bigger.

Heh. Here's where I stop myself after before saying something more about bigger.

xoxo

(HOLD UP AGAIN! My word verification - 'muchcarb!' - minus the exclamation point. Oh, I have a very good feeling about my chances at this rice deal now...)

The brown Minute Rice is the best. Once we switched to brown I can't stand how bland the white rice is.

Also I can't believe I'm writing a comment about rice.

Awesome. I love minute rice too, boil-in-bag brown rice is the only reason we ever eat rice.

I don't think I've ever had minute rice, either.

We're not rice people, but if it is free...we might magically fall in love with it. Count us in. I won fancy tickets to a baseball game via Twitter yesterday, so I'm feeling lucky.

I love rice, but brown rice always ends up crunchy for me. I'd love to try Minute Brown Rice.

Plus, today is my birthday, so how about some free rice?
