lazy saturday

We went to the grocery store this morning and to my absolute joy I saw these out front:

I love everything related to October especially Hallowe'en. I was so pleased when I discovered I was having an October baby (next time though, I'm having a Spring baby... Winter is too lonely to be a new mommy).

I had to get Bumper these spider pj's because they are so scary.

Have I mentioned that I live for scary movies? Though I have noticed since becoming a mommy, I no longer am able to tolerate some of the stuff that used to make me giggle and watched through fingers. Mind you, Haute Tension is still my favorite slasher flick. I saw it at the TIFF three years ago and bought it went it came out on DVD last year. Wicked soundtrack and wonderful actors. I must warn: if you can't take blood than don't see this one but if you want a good bloody slasher flick to rent this Hallowe'en, this will fit the bill.

Speaking of scary things, this is what I looked like a year ago this week. It was my last day at work and I felt like Orca. I still had three weeks to go.

I'm loving that Fall is in the air now that I'm resigned to the fact that Summer is over. Farewell humid nights, hello down-filled duvets!

We were delighted in finding pumpkins outside the corner store yesterday.

It looks like bumper was posing as a watermelon. You were all belly - lucky woman!

Halloween is my favorite holiday. Yes, I said holiday. I turn it into my personal mission to be the MOST hideous zombie bride handing out candy. I have had little kids come up and say "...ummmm, you're realllly scary...."

I have looked at Haute Tension lottsa times, but my ability to handle gore has decreased since having had kids. My faves tho are the zombie flicks....

Can I say you were one sexy-looking pregnant lady?

What kittenpie said - sexy mama!

(I'm a fall chica myself - as in, I love it. Love the crisp air, the leaves, the brand new notebooks and pens for school, the root vegetables... mmm, pumpkin pie, scalloped potatoes, mashed turnip and carrot... mmm, fall food...)

I love halloween too! last year we decorated the outside of the house, carved 6 pumpkins, made a zombie cematery out of our garden and I made bumblebee's costume. what the frick am I supposed to do this year?

Interesting point on the spring baby/fall baby thing - I had a spring baby, and am determined to have a fall baby next, because going back to work in the spring is really, really hard. fall seems like a more transitional period.

I've done a November baby and a July baby and July was a lot better. Really, I think probably April or May would be about perfect. (You got any plans for next July/August?)

You were not a scary pregnant lady at all. I love fall too but want a spring baby next time too.

You were a pretty cute pregnant lady - not scary.

I am afraid I'll have to wimp out on you about the scary movies. I am completely terrified ... can't do it without my eyes closed ... which makes it fairly ridiculous.

Hey...that's me about now! I've got just under 4 weeks to go...yikes!!

My last baby was a winter baby (end of december) and i think that a fall baby will be nice. Although I kind of liked winter.

Halloween is good. The Happy Boy had the BEST costuem last year - elephant - don't know what i'll do this year!

I think you were an adorable pregnant lady, although it does look like you're carrying a pumpkin. ;)

Hey, I tagged you.

I love autumn, and you're right about winter being too lonely for a new mom--Al was born in January, and that's when our winter down here really gets going.

For some reason, your post just lifted my spirits. And my spirits were in desperate need of a lift.
