The weird kind of thoughts that cross my mind

I've been trying to make a more concerted effort to write down those little tidbits that pop into my tired and strangely designed head each day (hour, minute, second...).

Things like, how every time I see the baby sun in Teletubbies, I think it looks more and more like Dwight Schrute.

Just me? OK, that's fair. I couldn't find a good shot of the sunshine anyway, thus rendering my attempt to validate this observation moot. For the life of me, I couldn't find one solemn still of the sometimes creepy but cute little sunshine. I needed the concerned, slightly grumpy face the sun has right before realizing that it's a brand new day in teletubby land. I swear, that on TV that kid looks just like Dwight right before the moment of happiness.

Maybe I'm spending way too much time in Teletubby land. I think most would agree that anything over two minutes is way too much time to spend in Teletubby land.

Speaking of those darn little Teletubbies (oh Po, how I just want to hug you, you little rapscallion):

Did you know that Poland has put together a committee of psychologists to investigate if the Teletubbies are promoting a homosexual lifestyle on the young'ins?

No? Well it's true.

Apparently some senior official just recently noticed, for whatever reason, that Tinky Winky, the purse carrying purple thing... I mean.. teletubby, is considered male. So a team has been put together to investigate if the show has any undertones. Seriously, based on this article the government sounds more than a wee bit homophobic.

I wonder what they would think of Boohbah? Now there is one trippy show.

Poland finally caved! After being mocked across the globe the so-called watch dog has flip-flopped. The Washington Post Offbeat Blog has a hilarious 2 part series on this today. Hard to imagine there could be any more Polish jokes out there but when a country is 8 years behind Jerry Falwell, that really says something!

I've actually never seen Teletubbies - can you believe it. But I HAVE seen Boohbah, much to my distress. I'm still trying to figure that one out. Maybe I should take drugs first?

Teletubbies used to drive me insane. But BubTar would see it at daycare and he called it Tubby-tubbies, and when he asked for it in that sweet gruff baby voice of his, I always caved. Now if I ask him to say Tubby-tubbies he says "Moooom, you're embarrassing ME!" *sigh*

I am getting a kick out of your observations, though. :) Boohbah is way crazy, and I think they look like fuzzy breasts with odd looking nipples.

Top Of The World - thank you for the update - The Polish government has just renewed a "butt of jokes" status for another ten years.

Kyla - I thought zits but now that you mention it they do look like breasts...

I agree, Boohbah is seriously trippy.

Boohbah is boohbahingly SCARY!!!

As are the Hoobs . . . do you get them over there? They scare so much! Hoobydoobydooooooooooooo!

I hated the Teletubbies, The Tweenies and now I hate Balamory as my brother watches things on repeat till it is ingrained into your soul.

What's the story in Balamory, wouldn't you like to know . . .

It's funny to me that you used the word "rapscallion". Who says that besides you and my husband? :-)

Boobah: I'm pretty sure that I heard someone representing the show say on The Today Show before the show first aired, that it was created for kids with disabilities. Maybe someone can do some research on that?

My son never watched too much of teletubbies, or barney, or blues clues. He did see a lot of animal planet. His teachers have all remarked about how much he knows about animals. Maybe that has been part of his problem too....dunno? :-) I have pretty much forbidden cartoon network though. Too many questionable things there. He can watch nickelodeon, but we are never home...

Hey I don't know this boohbah that you speak of.

Thank goodness cause I sure don't WANT to know any other kiddie program.

I wish you didn't plant the whole image of Dwight in my head...now you know what I'm gonna be thinking when I see that damn baby.

OMG they are way behind Jerry Falwell on that one. He was talking about that about 10-15 years ago!

Dwight in the sun. I would not have thought of it until you mentioned it, but I see it now. As long as I don't see his face in the real sun, I'll be ok.
Actually, I think it would make for some good entertainment to see him in the sky from time to time...cloud watching, Dwight-sun-gazing...

I laughed myself silly when I heard Poland was investigating the Teletubbies...

My toddler used to love watching the Boohbah website... although I've never seen the tv show.
