A huge thank you for your well wishes on my last post. I spoke with a physician (who happens to be her grandfather) and he assured me its (a) nothing serious, (b) nothing contagious and (c) probably teething. So at this rate, I expect her to wake up tomorrow morning with a full set of pearly whites.
So far lack of photo opportunities from today, I present Bumper the bartender:
How do you make a slippery nipple? With Lansinoh?
These were taken over the weekend when we attended a BBQ with my sis-in-law. Bumper seemed to be a natural at the bar. Sigh. She's so like me. Oh crap. I'm in so much trouble.

Teething....pull out the Motrin honey, take a chug (no...from the wine for you, the Motrin for her!).
Growing takes a ton of energy, and she willhave her dips and slides and make you anxious and scared.
Then...she will bounce back, be an inch taller, have new tooth, and say a word.
What a crazy ride! Anne
Sorry to hear that she's still blue. It sounds like it might be one of those developmental growth spurts (The Wonder Weeks book as recommended by Moxie). She's 8 months right? Between 33 & 38 weeks (not necessarily the whole time) there's supposed to be a rough patch but afterwards (39 weeks) she should be back to normal & will have learned to classify her world into groups.
We are going through this right now too & her mood swings are incredible. Sometimes it's as though nothing I do can make it better & both of us end up frustrated. Add in teething, travel & a nasty cold & yikes! Hang in there, it's got to get better, right?
Oh & I'll have a a Gin & Tonic please. I see some Tanqueray up there on that fancy bar you Bumper is tending.
That's one shiny, stocked bar.
Oh how I wish that the teething thing could be done in one night. It is pure torture.
Love the photos!! A virgin daquiri for me, please, I'm pregnant!
As for teething, I do hear you. My son's first tooth was nothing, but his second? Yikes! Most of the rest were okay, molars? Not so much.
He's 18 months now, and has all his teeth, except the last 4 molars. He's been teething with them for at least a month now, and they don't appear to be breaking through. So I feel for you.
Extra cuddles never hurt! Good luck!
Hyland's teething tablets -worked wonders for our little dental over-achiever when all those pearly whites came crashing through her sore, red gums. oh, and make mine a double.
Just send over your entire stock for me! Sam's been teething for about 2 weeks and all I can get into her is yogurt, a few pieces of cheese and some cheerios, everyone keeps asking me wow she's so thin, how much does she weigh?? etc etc...they must think I starve her intentionally...
Hang in there, eventually one day they'll have all their teeth!!
Teach her how to make a g&t.
Oh the wo's of teething. Actually, since bumper is bartending, tell her to rub some brandy on those gums. Its supposed to do the trick! lol!
Cute pics!
I'll take one vodka tonic please, hold the tonic. Or, yeah, like BunMaster said, gin is good too. Hell, you may have that story out of me by morning!
Poor lil' Bumper. I meant to post on that last entry about how sad, yet utterly adorable she looked. I hope she's feeling much better very, very soon!
Boy did it EVER rain yesterday! We splashed in puddles for the heck of it.
I hope Bumper's feeling better soon...
Make mine a double, okay? And one for you too 'cause that teething stuff can be murder on a mama. And even harder on a baby. Poor kid. Give her a hug for me.
An alien face hug. ;)
I love the pictures! I found you at Mrs. chicky's BTW!
that's a CUTE baby. geez.
and, oh, the trouble you're gonna be in, someday soon. *shakes head*
