We celebrated in the traditional Canadian fashion. We rode on elephants.
OK, she rode on an elephant and I acted like a pageant mom by yelling "OVER HERE GIGI - LOOK AT THE CAMERA! THE MOTHERBUMPIN" CAMERA"
After the ride I asked her how it was because YO, I love elephants and never had the chance to ride one but my little two-year old who says "meh" about elephants - she gets to be one with the beasts. Life once again proves how fair life can be. So as I said, I asked for her thoughts on the ride.
Bumpy was her response.
Yeah, those pachyderms really need to work on their shock-absorbers.
Later on our train ride home, I asked the same question again and this time I got a better answer.
It felt like cheese mommy.
At least she provided me with a cheesy ending to my post.

I've never ridden on cheese, but I'd think it was much jigglier than an elephant. Very thought provoking description, Gigi (who I still desperately want to call Bumper, old habits...)
Cheese. Yeah, I know the feeling.
Huh. So now we know.
I'm moving to Canada!
where on earth did you get to ride , I mean she get to ride on an elephant????
'it felt like cheese.'
lmfao.
it was awesome fun hanging with the elephants with youse.
(which, crazymumma, answers your question - at my place!)
Um, so where did you find elephants to ride?
We rode them when I lived in Thailand. I have to say I can go with bumpy... cheese, I'm not so sure about.
;)
Wait a minute, hold the phone - your daughter's ridden on cheese?? Cool. I need to hang out with you guys more often.
HBM officially lives in the wild - she keeps elephants in her backyard. It's AMAZING.
And Gigi learned cheese-riding as her salute to Wisconsin!
It felt like cheese. That is hilarious and weird and so very, very toddler. But if it's anything like a camel, well, bumpy would be about right.
your kid is freakin adorable.
Wait, did the ride feel like cheese, or did the elephant feel like cheese?
Wow. In the States, we just blow each other up with fireworks. You folks know how to party.
I rode a camel once. Like being on a smelly shag (not Chag) rug thrown on a shopping cart with a bad whell.
I like riding on a good Gouda every once in a while but I don't recommend trying that with a soft Brie. And with that life lesson I just saved you a heap of trouble. You can thank me later.
I'm sorry but I'm going to be critical for a second. Could you do something about the size of your font. I'm squinting and feeling like my mother. She squints when she reads. I don't squint. I'm young and invincible.
For Eddy, I mean BHJ, I have increased my font size. Now expect less words because OMG THEY FEEL HUGE. Hey, does my butt look big in this blog?
like cheese.
my god, she's awesome.
:)
I swear that the best thing about going to Phuket last year was riding on elephants through the jungle. I can close my eyes and think about it and suddenly, I'm back there. It was amazing.
